We stayed in a beautiful bed and breakfast in Wailea and every morning we were greeted by fresh fruit (some picked from the nearby trees), juice and delicious homemade muffins which we enjoyed outside our room. This was the perfect beginning to our day. Since it was Sunday we went to church (where the speakers were incredible) and then drove to the top of Mount Haleakala.
This was probably one of my favorite days. The road wound up the mountain and through the clouds until it looked like we ended up on the mountains of Mars. The different colors of arid soil was more like Southern Utah than Hawaii. Maybe that's why I liked it so much.

We ended our day with a taste of Pai'a. We sampled several restaurants based on recommendations from family and random met strangers.

You got some incredible pictures and that volcano trip is a whole new world. Really different than any place else. You got some amazing photos, and it is really cool to be above the clouds! Love the plants, so different than anything you've ever seen.
