Rulan Spencer Adams June 28, 1967 to February 25, 2014

Rulan loved flying, his cousins, the Reno air races, his friends, his cats, his siblings, teasing, his parents, Sheree, traveling, Kaylynn, Nascar, fishing, Grandma Nelson, Rush, joking, poker, the Waltons, animals, the Clements, his extended family, cruises, and adventure. As I said in his eulogy: Over the last few years he had many struggles with his health--some brought on by things outside of his control and some of his own choosing. He lost contact with friends and most of his family. However for most of his life he was friendly, generous, and fun to be around. This is how he should be remembered. May he finally be at peace.
Ironic to fly into St. George on Skywest, the airline Rulan worked for for 25 years. Last time I flew Skywest,  years ago, I used his standby benefits.

I am standing next to one of Rulan's lifelong friends who drove 10 hours through a snowstorm to attend. We are grateful to all of his other friends who sent flowers and expressed condolences.

Thanks to my cousin, Kirk, for dedicating this video to my brother. Both were high school track stars back in the day.

This winter we...

...had a fun Super Bowl Party at Jay and Lisa's house,

...went to a BYU basketball game,

...sent Erin off to a girl's choice dance,

 ...celebrated Krysta's 24th birthday,

So, they are wrapping the cat in a blanket. No one knows why.

...went skiing at Alta,

...and Deer Valley,
One of Curt's work contacts gave him 6 VIP passes for Deer Valley. When I went to the booth to redeem them, I got a look from the employee that said, "Do I know you? Are you famous?" Sorry to disappoint.

This is my friend the bunny hill.
Instruments of torture!
...Rachel tried on Krysta's prom dress and it fit!

...and I dyed my hair blue!
Curt also started a new job in January which keeps him very busy. We also bought a rental home in Florida. No wonder I don't have time to blog!

Christmas 2013

What is Christmas without a cousin party? Getting together is always fun and seeing cousins we hadn't seen in a while was really great. Calling for Pixie is also a lot more fun with true believers in the house! Thank goodness for younger cousins.
Hello, baby Clara.

This was our first Christmas without Kevin at home. We talked to him that day and it was great! However, once we hung up, it was a little depressing. We had to get out of the house. We ran to Jay and Lisa's to drop off their Christmas present and then for the first time ever on Christmas, we went to a movie. I know that many people go to the movies on Christmas Day, but I still couldn't believe how crowded it was.

This and the next picture we texted to Kevin after our phone call. The members were nice to text us a picture of Kevin eating dessert after he called us.

Grandma and Grandpa Adams came to our house a few days after Christmas. They usually spend Christmas with us, but this year we felt they should stay with Rulan. I'm glad we made that decision, since it was his last Christmas, and I'm glad he wasn't alone for the day.

We had fun getting together with Verl and family, eating Christmas dinner, and seeing some of the sights downtown.
